Near Field Communication, Part 2

Bluetooth Marketing

The technology behind Bluetooth marketing works in a similar way as NFC. However, Bluetooth technology is limited in terms of the range within which people can share and transfer information. With Bluetooth enabled devices, users can share images, barcodes, audio, text and video files. However, this form of sharing multimedia content requires users to offer each other permission before the mobile devices can interact to send or to receive content.

Mobile communications and social networking concept

In this regard, Near Field Communication is more versatile when compared to Bluetooth technology, when it comes to the ease of sharing information. Nevertheless, marketers can still make use of Bluetooth technology to interact with customers who are already familiar with the brand and are open to receiving promotional content from the brand.
